Childhood Acting

Craig began his career as a child actor, as Craig Hundley in Hollywood. His roles included two guest appearances in ''Star Trek: The Original Series.” First as Captain James T. Kirk's nephew, Peter James Kirk in the Season 1 finale episode "Operation: Annihilate!" in 1967, and as the leader in "And the Children Shall Lead" in 1968. At age 9, “Lassie” saved his life, and he guested on “The Beverly Hillbillies.” At the age of 10, he guest-starred as Samantha's warlock nephew on ''Bewitched.''

As a tween Craig guest starred on “Gunsmoke,” “The Virginian,” and “The Flying Nun,” and for a year in “Days of our Lives.” As a teen he guest-starred on “Lancer,” played the award-winning son of Ernest Borgnine in “Run for your Life,” and befriended his schoolmate Greg on “The Brady Bunch.” In the 1970s he guest-starred and composed special music in Gene Roddenberry’s final movie-of-the-week/pilot, “Planet Earth.”

Youth Acting

At age 11 Craig exchanged letters with President Lyndon Johnson, which led to being flown to Washington while chaperoned by Senator Pierre Salinger (who had the prior year been JFK’s Press Secretary). He met with the President, walked on the Senate floor, and appeared with his report each day giving his youthful bird’s eye view on ABC TV news.
